How to tell if Reddcoin Core Wallet has frozen? #176

I've not received a few minor Reddcoin transactions from faucets for a few days, and I've not won any new Reddcoin from staking for about a week. I'm overdue by quite a few days. How do I get the wallet to receive the transactions and get staking again?

The wallet suggests that it is synced and has connections to 8 other peers, and I data seems to be flowing between them.

When withdrawing from a faucet, do they provide a txid as an output that you can use to track?

For staking, if you are using the QT GUI, there should be a green icon staking_on this visually indicates that the wallet is staking. hovering over, will also give an estimate as to when to expect the next stake. if it is grey staking_off it indicates that the staking is off, and hovering should also provide a reason

Issuing getstakinginfo at the console should also yield the status

I have noticed that the overall network difficulty has increased recently, and this will also impact the staking interval.

Hi Reddink,

Thanks for the reply and tips.

So, the payouts from the faucet all arrived today in one surge. They should have come over the past week like 1 a day, but all 7 arrived at once. That was very odd.

Yes, I have the green up arrow. It looks like it's staking and using getstakinginfo suggests this too. The estimated time to win is 2 days but it's been 8 days. I wouldn't generally worry, but given the strange behaviour with the faucet rewards, it would seem it's not working perfectly for me. Hopefully I'll win in a few days. Fingers crossed.

Ah yes, I see difficulty has gone up 30-40% over the past week. Maybe that's it then.
