Question: Future of this repo vs. redhat-developer/opencompose #53

Is this repo containing the spec being superseded by the code that's now at https://github.com/redhat-developer/opencompose , or is this the spec and that code the implementation?

kadel commented 7 years ago

Hi @ryansb, OpenCompose project was rebooted with slightly different approach and we wanted to start with new clean repository. We didn't want to lose all old research so we just renamed old opencompose to to opencompose-old.

Everything is in https://github.com/redhat-developer/opencompose. Or should be there in the future, it is all under heavy development.

j00bar commented 7 years ago

Howdy, @kadel - The reason we're asking is that we're working on a "Mk. II" version of Ansible Container, and part of that is reconsidering our container.yml file, which is an orchestration document analogous to OpenCompose or Docker Compose. We'd previously received encouragement from other teams at Red Hat to try to follow OpenCompose or at least track somewhat closely to it. Absent a spec to track, this is difficult. How would you suggest we proceed?

hey @j00bar, We are working on the spec/format. It does have some similarities from the older version but not everything is same. There are bits for which we would like more inputs from community as well. We should put the working version of spec asap. We will keep you all posted. And as Tomas said, please follow the new repository https://github.com/redhat-developer/opencompose .
