Have the laptop profiles been deprecated? #673

Open tsoernes opened 4 weeks ago

Where have the laptop profiles gone?

I see they are still in the github repo, but they are not included by default not available in Fedora 40.

Is there any reason for that? What profiles are recommended for a laptop instead?

The profiles weren't dropped yet, but they aren't maintained for some time. The profiles are still available in tuned-profiles-compat RPM subpackage.

For laptop probably the balanced and balanced-battery profiles should work good. They can be automatically changed by tuned-ppd if laptop is running on AC or battery.
