Fix to local validation #43

@adahms I noticed that yaml validation was failing if anything under 'variants' was missing. Since multivariant will rely on yaml validation I redesigned the validation process to use a schema. Please take a look if you get the time.

@adahms I've updated the .spec file, not sure if I did it the right way though. FYI, once this is merged I'm starting on file reorg and unit tests

Hey @Levi-Leah - I made one or two minor changes to the spec file, otherwise everything's looking great.

I'm going to be out this coming week as well, so if you'd like to take full control over the repo to make some structural and other changes, you're free to go ahead. No open PRs or pending code from me, so no clashes abound. :)
