The systray icon doesn't follow the system theme. For example, no matter what
icon theme is used, transgui continues to use its own tray icon, which is the
same as the default Gnome icon for transmission-gtk.
Transmission-gtk, on the other hand, uses a symbolic icon in themes that
support it, such as Faenza, Moka, Flattr, etc. The icon is located in
$THEME_DIR/22x22/status/transmission-tray-icon.png. (see attachment for the
difference between the two apps).
Transgui should either use the transmission-tray-icon file, or use its own. The
proposed name could be transgui-symbolic, per naming conventions suggested by
freedesktop and the Gnome team, as well as the new symbolic icons in the KDE
redesign:
