nohup vs other alternatives #570

There's been 4, 5 occurrence in the past 2 days that an "nohup command &" process got dropped in the background. I used 2 virtual machines and both encountered this problem.

If we want to execute stream without care, we need to either find out what made the background process dropped or look for an alternative for nohup.

@OscarDPan No _Definition of Done_. Also, no steps to reproduce your error. Inductive reasoning tells me that if nohup did not work as intended, then one of the thousand of Linux kernel developers would have been assigned to fix it over the past 20 years. Have you explored the possibility that the command was invoked incorrectly?
