[Bug] Remote Play opens Fortnite #281

I recently downloaded the better xcloud extension and tried to play remoteplay on chrome with keyboard and mouse enabled. Whenever I click play it gives me the xcloud screen, the tab will read Fortnite, and then the screen will go black for a few seconds before returning to the main screen. Other Xcloud games work fine, this only has happened with remoteplay. Also for context remote play works through the native xbox app and my phone. ...

Which extentions do you have in your browser? Some of them caused problem.

On Edge there was grammarly and on Chrome I had Strictwork flow (blocks out websites when on to focus), and Kapersky Security

Try to disable them all and try again. If it still doesn't work then it was caused by something else.

Okay when I tested and it didn’t work I was in my office at work, just tested at my home and it worked fine (didn’t even have to disable extensions). Don’t know what the difference is, can’t imagine it’s blocked somehow because XCloud still works fine there (and standard remote play).

Did you open port 9002? Check this guide: https://better-xcloud.github.io/remote-play/

I'll close this issue as it's not a bug.

Just commenting here as I have this exact same issue happen today and I was surprised to see someone else with it too - except I'm on the same network as the xbox so it's definitely not a network issue. It was working fine yesterday. Same browser (chrome), same better-xcloud version (5.0.1), no other extensions. Then try to load up today, thought something was up because I saw fortnite appear in 'jump back in' and I have never played that game. Try to do remote play and screen goes to spaceship -> xbox logo appears -> black screen -> boots me back to the main xcloud page. Works fine on my iphone app. Update: tried installing Brave (also chromium based), new tampermonkey install, had exactly the same issue. Gonna have to go back to my tiny iphone screen :( Update 2: WORKAROUND The only way I got it to work is by:

Bit of a faff but it works for now at least in case anyone else ends up here on google like I did :D

  • tested on desktop windows and Steam deck, both with edge.
  • When opening the remote play, the tab title says fortnite
  • Tried to open a game via the phone app and connect to the console after , i get kicked but still i get a black screen with "fortnite" as title
  • after a few seconds it disconects and returns to the xcloud home screen

Did you ever get a fix? I am having the same exact problem. Tried the other user's workaround of opening via phone app first. However when connecting via Better xcloud, the phone app immediately gives "disconnected from cloud gaming session - you started cloud gaming on another device" but it just goes back to the main screen.
