Compass

The compass core framework is a design-agnostic framework that provides common code that would otherwise be duplicated across other frameworks and extensions.

Why we should use Compass

Tons of CSS3 mixins we don't have to write ourselves.
Helper functions which are added to the default stack of Sass functions.
Tools for typography, lists, generating sprites, grids tables and more.
In the future Compass will be able to use smart vendor prefixes based on caniuse data.

Why we shouldn't use Compass

Compass adds another dependency to the project, it doesn't work without it.
There are other tools that make it possible to auto-prefix CSS (Grunt, Gulp).
There are other tools that make it possible to generate Sass-ready sprites (Grunt (Spritesmith)).
Mixins we need can be created, copied, or borrowed from other online sources.
