Xabber app crashes everytime it gets an OTR encrypted messaged from desktop Pidgin #690

Every time that a colleague of mine sends a message from his Windows 10 desktop Pidgin (updated to latest), receipt of that message causes Xabber to crash on my phone. This make Xabber completely unusable.

We are completely authenticated and validated between us.

Please advise as to how I can help track this down. Is there a log somewhere on the phone that perhaps I need to enable?

I have no issues using Pidgin together with Xabber. Which Xabber version are you using?

I am using 1.0.74, the latest version on F-Droid. Is there some way to have a log for this crash so I can help find out what is going on here? I have no issues with the possibility that it may be either something local to my phone, or something going on with my partner using Pidgin on his desktop. BTW, Pidgin to Pidgin OTR works just fine for us.

oops, hit the wrong button.. didn't mean to close this. Sorry for the noise. I thought "close" meant "close the comment window", not "close the issue".

I've tested two devices without problems. Both running Xabber 1.0.74 (one on android 5.0.1, one on Android 7.0).

You could try to remove and reinstalling Xabber. Or maybe you can try it on a different device.

fyi: There is a new version available on F-Droid. (Version 1.0.155 - Added on 2017-03-12). Maybe that one works for you.
