long press text-input field does not bring up input options #66

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. long press any blank text input field (e.g. in whatsapp/handcent sms) will
not bring up the input option
2. in language and settings, wifi keyboard already selected as keyboard
3. in browser, at first shows "not typing", subsequently says "connection
problem" when i start typing in the browser

WIFI is definitely working and i can use wifi explorer to transfer files, so
definitely not the issue of wifi.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
latest version. win 8 pro x64. chrome latest version.

Please provide any additional information below.

just to add :

i tried this on 2 different phones.

1 : samsung galaxy s2, on stock ICS rom
2 : samsung note 1, on half illusion ICS rom

both doesn't work. when long holding text input field, it just displays "paste
/ full editor / quick text".

i used a workaround - launched the swiftkey keyboard wizard that forces the
input options to launch. now it works as expected.

however, there's one huge issue. as i am now connected to my wifi keyboard, the
onscreen keyboard does not show. how do i get both to display at the same time?
i don't want to keep switching between both inputs.

Hi, I have the same problem. If I want to use WiFi keyboard I have to go to
settings and change WiFiKeyboard to default input method. That is not
absolutelly comfortable. My phone is Samsung Galaxy S3.
Is not there any possibility to let WiFiKeyboard "listen" even there is another
keyboard presented?
Thank you very much and good luck. Robert
