In case someone wants to make improvements or create their own reee gif, here's how I did it:
.psd
with the "r" and a textbox with several "e"s (more than are visible at once) beneath. [Mine]Shift + ←
s exactly once and finally saves the file as a png with a temporary name in a directory of my choice.n.png

is the frame number. Stop when you get to the point where you started. I made the mistake of not exactly planning out my frames so my final frame was slightly off of the original frame, but since the effect on the output wasn't much, I let it be.File
Scripts
Load Files into Stack...
and choose the exported images to load all images as layers in a new Photoshop document.Create Animation Frame
in the Timeline panelMake Frames From Layers
in the Timeline panel's menu.File
Export
Save for Web (Legacy)...
