Also while installing the scripts the Test http://antiblock.org/?p=v3&demo didn't run properly even if I followed all the steps correctly. test

@mapx- sorry. that didn't work. can you please suggest a different way for ABP in firefox 48.0 in ubuntu 14.04 64 bit and AB in chrome 52.0.2743 in ubuntu 14.04 64 bit and chrome 52.0.2743 in windows 7?

still working. Disable all other blocking addons / extensions (ghostery, disconnect, anti banner ...)

@mapx- sorry man. I don't have any of those kind of addons installed. Even the Test http://antiblock.org/?p=v3&demo didn't run properly even if I followed all the steps correctly. :(

probably it's some other blocking stuff in your system (HOSTS file, router blocking firmware, web shields of your antivirus)

or your provider is filtering the traffic, you could test using the DNS from google
