Website detecting the anti adblock #4368

We also have the same problem on the related sites

and

https://www.wcostream.com/

which now have an anti-adblock script of some kind which the anti-adblock killer isn’t stopping, preventing videos from loading unless ads are enabled.

All 5 domain names, wcoanimedub.tv , wcoanimesub.tv, thewatchcartoononline.tv , wco.tv , and wcostream.com are involved, they are basically the same website “WatchCartoonOnline”, just different URLs for it.

They also have the 6th domain name watchcartoononline.io but it is a redirect to wcostream.com but I would include it too just in case. Also their original domain name is watchcartoononline.com but it has been offline for quite some time now, I would include it too for a total of 7 domain names.

try ublock origin as only adblocker on default settings, if anti-adblock persists it will be fixed in ublock origin

Thank you for the suggestion, it seems the problem is that the Anti-Adblock Killer is not maintained anymore and if it is disabled, both the Anti-Adblock Killer script and the Anti-Adblock Killer filter list, and instead Nano Defender is used as its replacement (found at https://jspenguin2017.github.io/uBlockProtector/ ) this seems to fix it. It seems this error was caused by Anti-Adblock Killer, though, and disabling it and switching to Nano Defender gets these sites working again.

As far as uBlock Origin by itself dealing with anti-adblock scripts with its default settings, well, it deals with some of them but not as much as if you also use Nano Defender too. And while Anti-Adblock Killer used to be useful it seems it is actually counterproductive to have now if you have either uBlock Origin+Nano Defender or Nano Adblocker+Nano Defender.
