What specifically is remarkable about these pipes? #53

I'm trying to decide whether to use this mod in a custom pack. All I can figure out from the public description is that the goal is to be the best. How so? What makes them different from any other pipes? Do they have good capacity? Good compatibility? Good performance? I would really like to know what makes this mod worthwhile.
