As discussed via email, here is my contribution. Notice that paper.pdf still needs to be generated. Some issues arising from \usepackage[separate-uncertainty=true]{siunitx} and \usepackage{mhchem} prevented me from doing so, though I did check that the section alone compiles, the references are present and the figures are shown.
