Can I test this patch?

vkarak commented 4 months ago

@jack-morrison That's the expected failure with archspec you pointed out in #3107. Would you mind having a look? I tried changing the raw_info_dictionary() to the new detected_info() but it's not so straightforward.

Would you mind having a look?

Absolutely, thanks for the ping.

@vkarak Would it work for you to have an explicit function to retrieve the model information in archspec? If so, I can add that and release a new version.

vkarak commented 4 months ago

@alalazo That would help. Here's our usage:

https://github.com/reframe-hpc/reframe/blob/8395b49dc86c2a57a21ee6a3285950fde089c69b/reframe/utility/cpuinfo.py#L283-L288

We'd be happy if we could do archspec.cpu.host().model.

I'll close this PR and we'll wait for the update.

dependabot[bot] commented 4 months ago

OK, I won't notify you again about this release, but will get in touch when a new version is available. If you'd rather skip all updates until the next major or minor version, let me know by commenting @dependabot ignore this major version or @dependabot ignore this minor version. You can also ignore all major, minor, or patch releases for a dependency by adding an ignore condition with the desired update_types to your config file.

If you change your mind, just re-open this PR and I'll resolve any conflicts on it.

@vkarak See https://github.com/archspec/archspec/pull/156 The call is:

>>> archspec.cpu.brand_string()

@vkarak Just released v0.2.4 of archspec containing the modification above
