Your directions don't work due to a bug in the Winix iOS app #17

Your specific directions to create an alternate account using gmail's "+" feature where it's more of an alias does not work. For some reason their app (not website) does not like special characters in an e-mail address. I've tried the "." trick as well as "+" trick for an alternate account for gmail so that it delivers the message to the same inbox. Because of this, I am unable to share said devices with the alternate e-mail login. Not really your issue per say but it effects your comprehensive instructions and bums me out.

I thought to try creating the alternate account using the iOS app vs. the web, and it allowed me to create the account in the app but I still an unable to log in. I get the "verify your account" e-mail with 6 digit code, which I can type in but then it takes me to the login screen and i'm unable to get in.

Amazing plugin by the way - I was using another one from long ago and it was a PITA to set up and become unreliable. This one "just works" I thank you! I'll just use my regular login as I don't use the regular app anyway so no worries about it logging me out for now. Cheers!

Interesting, sorry about that. Did you initially try the android app? Might be good for me to update the wiki/README if the android app doesn't support this.

I was able to create another aaaaa+bbbb@gmail.com account on the iOS app just now. It sent me back to the login screen like you said after typing the 6-digit code. I was then able to log in using my new email/password combo. I'm sure you typed the correct password combo, so I won't ask here.

I know that one time when going through the steps when doing the write-up, I had a similar issue, and it took a bit of time for the new account to create in their backend. Can you still not login with the email/password you set up?

Thanks for the kind words! I too was using that other one and felt we could all use some quality-of-life changes 😄.
