This note for my laptop only.brew install postgresql kept gagging on 9.2 data that I could not eradicate all signs of. Conceded and installed 9.2 (steda the latest, 9.3.4). Hopefully, the post above can get me locally to 9.3.4 (as for mapping, I've got a postgis installed against the now gone 9.3.4!)
