Return does not work correctly anymore

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open nano anyfile
2. Modify anyfile : you can enter something, but 'return' does not add a new 
line, it just moves the cursor and remove some new lines (very strange behavior)
3. Try to save (Ctrl+O) : it asks for the name
4. Click 'return', it vibrates, but do not save.

What version of the product are you using ?
ConnectBot development snapshot 2011-05-29_11-30-35 

It worked fine with my old version (don't know which one, maybe 3 months-old).

What type of system are you trying to connect to?
Ubuntu Server 11.04

If you are able to connect, what is the output of "echo $TERM", "uname -a",
and any other relevant information on the host?
Linux rom-server 2.6.38-8-server #42-Ubuntu SMP Mon Apr 11 03:49:04 UTC 2011

I forgot to add: I have the problem both with the physical and the virtual 
keyboard.
