Authoritative DB for fetching 3GPP bibdata #3

This archive contains the following files:

306M Oct  4 15:33 CR-data.mdb
1.7G Oct  4 17:42 status_smg_3GPP.mdb
1.6G Oct  4 15:50 tdocs.mdb

The status_smg_3GPP.mdb file is an Access database that contains two relevant tables as follows.

  1. Specs_GSM+3G which contains all the Specifications and their metadata Screenshot 2021-10-09 at 4 04 26 AM

This information is used to generate these two pages:

  1. Specs_GSM+3G_release-info which contains every Release for all Specifications. Screenshot 2021-10-09 at 4 04 28 AM

e.g. Specification 55.205 is provided in multiple releases

We can use mdbtools to export these two tables on Linux/macOS into CSV and then parse them.

The way to use mdbtools on macOS is this:

$ mdb-json ~/Downloads/status_smg_3GPP_2021-10-04_17h42-CET/status_smg_3GPP.mdb 'Specs_GSM+3G'
