This document is 60.00, not 60.60, i.e. the PRF stage. The identifier is already "ISO 19105", not "ISO/FDIS 19105".

Screenshot 2022-06-27 at 12 21 23 AM

If I use "ISO 19105:2022", I get: (notice the first line of the warning is missing the year, and the 3rd line also ends strangely!)

[relaton-iso] ("ISO 19105") fetching...
[relaton-iso] WARNING: no match found online for ISO 19105:2022. The code must be exactly like it is on the standards website.
[relaton-iso] (There was no match for 2022, though there were matches found for 2000, .)
[relaton-iso] If you wanted to cite all document parts for the reference, use "ISO 19105 (all parts)".
If the document is not a standard, use its document type abbreviation (TS, TR, PAS, Guide).

If I apply "ISO/PRF 19105" (or "ISO/FDIS 19105"), it becomes:

[relaton-iso] ("ISO/PRF 19105") fetching...
[relaton-iso] WARNING: no match found online for ISO/PRF 19105:2022. The code must be exactly like it is on the standards website.

@ronaldtse the iso.org/search doesn't find ISO 19105:2022 or ISO/PRF 19105 The documents it finds are

@andrew2net it's the second one. It is "under development", in stage "60.00".

We need a syntax to refer to the second one.

@andrew2net What do we do for a document that does not have year in the identifier?

Are we trying to ask users to use:

I have reported this issue to ISO to seek assistance.

@andrew2net What do we do for a document that does not have year in the identifier?

@ronaldtse I suggest to add year to identifier in case a reference has year, and identifier from title in search result doesn't have year, and metadata in search result has matched year. The search result provided by Algolia API and contains title and other metadata. Titles start with identifier usually with year. Often the year in metadata doesn't match to year in title, so we use year form titles. In case ISO 19105:2022 there isn't year in the title but year in the metadata is 2022. The only problem that pubid-iso gem makes docidentifier from title and don't allow to add year. I'm waiting for @mico to implement the docid.year= method. If it's urgent I can implement the method or use #instance_variable_set to workaround the issue.

@andrew2net can you directly PR in pubid-iso and then we can merge and release it? We do not have to wait for @mico .

ronaldtse commented 2 years ago

@andrew2net can you clarify -- how do I cite this document? Can you document this somewhere?

ronaldtse commented 2 years ago

I can confirm that it fetches.

bundle exec relaton fetch "ISO 19105:2022"
