fixes #250 The current screen looks like, maybe it would not be a bad idea to have a custom message for this issue...?

Good idea. But maybe something more than just a message?

Considering that the problem here is that the Awala app hasn't managed to register with its Internet gateway, I think the user should be instructed to open the Awala app to see what's going on.

So maybe a message and a button to open the Awala app? But we should probably create a separate issue for that because this PR is fixing a crash and it'd be best to have it deployed sooner.
