Google Play Store stuck on old version #43

Hey, thank you very much for creating this, it's so much better than the stock ROM!

I'm having an issue where the Google Play store won't update (automatically or manually). It's on build 4.6.17 and when I press it to update it simply says "Google Play store is up to date". Not sure what's up with it as at time of writing latest play store is version 33!

I haven't had my Hudl's out for a while, and need to re-create my development environment, but I've heard from others that the Google Play Store no longer supports any Android version prior to Andriod V5.0.

I think I need to look at updating Google Play Services and Google Play Store to the latest that work in the image, rather than relying on them getting updated - but I know when I tried to do this originally I couldn't make it work.

This should already be covered by Issue #18 but I'll leave this open for now. I hope I might get an opportunity to re-visit this project early in 2023

In the meantime "side loading" apk files of versions of apps compatible with android 4.2.2 may be the only way forwards. There's some information about how to do this here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1lICLjjd3X1HLwSDXGYSf9x7WZ4fwz4Hj/view
