a few VPS providers have gone offline since a major vulnerability was found in SolusVM, so that may be your issue.
Yeah, they were hit. Hopefully won't be too long

hopefully.....
No mirror to advise me just to refresh my db waiting for the vip to be back
Guessing this is still down?
Someone said they're getting an error, but it seems to be working OK for me. Gonna test some things out to make sure it works for everyone. Are you having problems? On Jun 19, 2013 8:07 PM, "alanrbryant" notifications@github.com wrote:

I am
I have, too. I can access codeshy.com without problems, but my headphones instance can't.
Could anything be wrong in our ini file, i cannot find any reference to Headphones need to connect to an adress. It is only my username and password in the file. I tried a different installation, and when i put "other" it said Localhost:5000 in the ini file.
so am i.
Since one month the vip server kept working and not working and so on. For now it doesn't work
@vaski666 The VIP server URL is hardcoded in the daemon. When you use another musicbrainz mirror, it does not need username and pw, but a host and a port, since these values are custom, and regular mirrors don't have username and password restriction. It's only the vip, to make sure one pays for it.
Seems like it's down for me too.
Attempt to retrieve artist information from MusicBrainz failed for artistid: 04f8dad4-de2d-4e98-8837-6a55075a9847 (retried 3 times, caused by: HTTP Error 503: Service Unavailable)
The only thing I can think is that something got screwed up when restoring the server from the backup. It will be faster for me to just build it again from scratch so give it a few hours and it'll be back on line
really sorry about all this and thanks for bearing with me On Jun 20, 2013 5:40 AM, "lrusak" notifications@github.com wrote:

Same problem here, glad to hear you're aware of the issue and it's being looked into. Thanks!
Yeah. It's happening for me now too so I'm pretty sure something got botched up in the restore process. Server will be going offline for a few hours while I rebuild the server. Again, sorry for the inconvenience and will hope to have this back up tonight!
Decided to switch to linode. Will update headphones with the new ip address when it's all set up

Thanks for your efforts @rembo10
Sure thing. I'm also going to document all the steps this time so i can update the wiki to make it easier for people to create their own mirrors

That would be excellent. I started creating my own mirror yesterday using the instructions, was pretty straight forward but a couple of parts didn't go exactly as documented. I am no linux expert though.
@simonszu thanks for clearing that up, im very new to headphones
And thanks alot for your efforts @rembo10
Was waiting for the search server to build before I pushed the update out but realized I could use the old server in the meantime for searches
Update is out with the new IP address. Searches use the old server. New sign ups are closed til everything is fully working but there's no authentication checking for now on the VIP server if anyone wants to check it out On Jun 20, 2013 7:35 PM, "vaski666" notifications@github.com wrote:

@rembo10 it is working great!
How do I reset my VIP password? I had to reinstall and I don't remember what the PW was.
@JeffWScott I just had to look it up as well: we got sent an email, just search your inbox for "headphones"
Unfortunately, the updated VIP server does not seem to work for me. I'm on version bb3b747e0a0d4d1b6924f4539991f0cce582a074, but when searching for an artist, I get this:
2013-06-27 23:45:36 INFO No results found for: Audioslave
2013-06-27 23:45:31 WARNING Attempt to query MusicBrainz for Audioslave failed (retried 3 times, caused by: HTTP Error 504: Gateway Time-out)
2013-06-27 23:42:25 INFO No results found for: Audioslave
2013-06-27 23:42:20 WARNING Attempt to query MusicBrainz for Audioslave failed (retried 3 times, caused by: HTTP Error 502: Bad Gateway)
No other relevant log entries, apparently.
It was working for me but now it's not
I hadn't used HP in a few months after my RAID with all music on it choked and died a silent death. So I have no idea when it stopped working for me.
Looks like the server is down again? Looking at the logs seemed to have occurred around ~12 hours ago.
2013-06-27 08:22:27
Attempt to retrieve information from MusicBrainz for release group .... failed (retried 3 times, caused by: HTTP Error 504: Gateway Time-out)
..
On another note I've been attempting to setup my own mirror but it's too much for a linux novice, I got 70% through the guide. Is there a VHD I can throw on HyperV anywhere? Or an updated VHD i can toss onto VirtualBox or something?
Yeah i'm having the same issue, using the headphones official MB mirror too.
That explains the errors I am seeing, Looks like this is still down. Bummer.
Workin on it. Give me about half an hour On Jun 28, 2013 4:25 PM, "hendrickx" notifications@github.com wrote:

I have no idea why it stopped working but it's back up now
is it possible to get a PW reset?
I'm still getting the same error: 2013-06-28 09:08:44 WARNING Attempt to query MusicBrainz for ***** (retried 3 times, caused by: HTTP Error 504: Gateway Time-out).
On version bb3b747e0a0d4d1b6924f4539991f0cce582a074 which should be the latest as I've checked for any update. I did only purchase a VIP membership this week, but it was working fine before yesterday.
EDIT: Never mind. Must have just been something temporary, all is good now.
I restarted Headphones (not sure if necessary) and it works. Donation is on the way!
@rembo10 I hate to keep repeating myself... but I donated and have been using the headphones VIP musicbrains mirror for a while now. I just re-installed Headphones and can't remember my password. What's the process to reset my PW? My username is JeffWScott and the e-mail associated is probably scottyjeff@gmail.com or jeffscott@outlook.com I can't remember what one I signed up with.
I emailed you yesterday with a link to reset your password. Sent to your gmail account

Is the VIP server down again?
The server keeps freezing for some reason. Its back online now and im looking for a permanent fix for this. Sorry for the inconvenience, seems like we've been having a ton of problems lately On Jul 1, 2013 9:06 AM, "stayupthetree" notifications@github.com wrote:

It looks like it's having an issue again.
Attempt to retrieve artist information from MusicBrainz failed for xxxxxxx (retried 3 times, caused by: HTTP Error 504: Gateway Time-out)
I'm trying to debug what's going on - it just seems to happen randomly, and throws no errors or warnings, so it's hard to know where to start

The last few days I've been getting a lot of 502 "Bad Gateway" errors on the VIP server. On any particular update, I would say maybe 1/5 of the albums/artists are not able to update properly due to this error.
I'd use my own VM but there are a lot of challenges there (build it from scratch or do a lot of hacking to the fairly old VM offered at present by musicbrainz).
Working on a fix. Linode's io rates seem really bad, but I'll sort it out
Same problem here, 502 error every few tracks. I tried to host my own but without a lot of linux experience i gave up a few hours in trying to build it from scratch...
No it's really annoying. Will get it fixed ASAP On Jul 17, 2013 9:19 AM, "pcHTPC" notifications@github.com wrote:

2 Months and this is still not fixed, If it was free i coundn't care less. but this was supposed to be a VIP mirror funded by donations.
C'mon Rembo10 get moving!
