Have you had a look at beets, maybe you could do something with the Genre Plugin and Path Formats
Hi, I use beets. I would like to know if it's not possible to incorporate the genre tree one defines in beets?
Not right now but I think it's a good idea for us to figure out how to do this.... On Jul 2, 2014 12:39 PM, "Lyle Jacobs" notifications@github.com wrote:

Thanks for considering it. I'll keep an eye on this thread in case you guys make any headway on this. Thanks for a great product by the way! I have donated.
1st off, headphones is awesome. Thanks.
Here's my issue---- I organize my library by folder structure of: Music/Genre/Artist/Album
But because headphones lumps everything together I have 2 places for music.
1 directory is where headphones moves post-processed/renamed downloads.
1 directory is where I manually put the downloads into the correct Genre, within my true library.
(When headphones downloads something, and processes/renames it, I then check that destination and move it to my library.)
Is there a way to allow headphones to recognize the genres I HAVE SET for my library and upon post processing it will put everything in the correct place, thus removing the need for 2 directories of music.
I suggest that the user be allowed to create the genre because a lot of music is overlapping genres attached to the tags. Example: hard rock vs. rock Hip hop vs hip-hop vs. hip-hop/rap
