Delete artist, deletes on new scan #260

When you delete an artist from your list that is showing up incorrectly for whatever reason it would be great if headphones could make it that it does not show up on the list again unless you actually add the artist. I am getting alot of artists that are not on my list and I delete them and when another scan goes they come back.

This'll be solved in the next update

alright - fixed in the develop branch, also with an option to manually choose which artists you want to import after a scan - i'll merge it into master in a day or two after i make sure its stable-ish

Has this been pushed out yet? I am still having an issue when deleting artists. they are reappearing. Version: 742e89bdb9b8d6ec3618f3711e105d69898546f9 check out this thread for some specifics http://forum.xbmc.org/showpost.php?p=869905&postcount=355

Yeah, it uses your id3 tags to scan for new artists. First album artists then artist. You might need to add album artist to some of your songs

how do I do that?? Im on linux ubuntu.

rembo10 commented 13 years ago

Not sure - also noticed another weird thing. Your version is the most current, but this message: xxx is already in the database. Updating 'have tracks' but not artist information

was taken out a couple commits ago. Force check for a headphones update in manage. I think I made a mistake for people using the init.d startup script

ah nevermind about my last message - it is still in there :-/

not sure what the mediaplayer is in ubuntu but i think there is one. open up your mp3s in that so you can see the actual tags its using, and change them where appropriate

I was wondering how headphones can handle mixtape or remixes that are not official songs. for instance I have alot of david guetta songs that are remixes and they dont really belong to an album however I want them to show up on headphones somehow. Can we have misc files that scan the folder for the artist and then show those on headphones.
