transparency/reproducibility/provenance metadata right on plot?

To avoid confusion,it would be nice to add some metadata right in the plots. e.g:

• connectivity types
• metrics used
• method used (features or boundary)

I'm not sure how to implement this in a way that doesn't hide the plot.
