Regression: a new User does not associate their Github account

This was found when @d-natoli tried to use SlashDeploy. He gets the message:

Oops! We had a problem running your command, but we've been notified

And the correlated ruby exception in rollbar is https://rollbar.com/Remind/slashdeploy/items/16/occurrences/40820512317/
