The extra copies of TaskCPU, etc. came from a bad merge in df7ce11a.

The InstanceType comment was orphaned in 0c6ad4c3.

Thanks @mmdriley, turns out the long-lived branch of stacker-1.0 ended up with a few bad merges. I'm actually working on fixing other issues elsewhere, but I should have it fixed tonight! Accepting this for now!
