I faced this error while running this project on macOS.

I did two things to fix it.

Downgraded myqsl to version mysql:8.0-oraclelinux8
- Fully delete and re-start the containers
Edited the javascript script to use localhost instead of host.docker.internal
- Uninstall the package globally and clean the cache to make sure the edit is picked up
