If so, we should transfer ownership over to remotestorage.

nilclass commented 12 years ago

it's currently broken, as soon as I have time to fix it I'll move it.

nilclass commented 12 years ago

but you're probably right, I'll move it now.

@nilclass rename to remotestorage-ruby or even remotestorage-rack? (nit picking ;)

nilclass commented 12 years ago

done. I don't like remotestorage-rack, as that would suggest it's a middleware (it could work as such but doesn't right now).

feel free to nitpick as much as you feel is necessary :-)

I suppose this can be closed.

I was talking to @xMartin about naming, because with remotestorage we have the distinction of storage servers and app libraries. For app libraries like remotestorage.js (or remotestorage.py, etc.) a generic name makes sense or is somewhat established. For the storage server on the other hand there should be specific names, like liquor-cabinet by @5apps, or reStore by @jcoglan, or @ownCloud.

So @nilclass, feel free to think about a cool name for it. :)

@jancborchardt .turnOffDictatorMode() ;)

how about instead of 'there should be specific names' approaching it for example 'we (xMarting and I) like an idea of using specific names' or 'we (xMartin and I) believe that using specific names would not discriminate other implementations'? related to my email to unhosted mailing list: https://groups.google.com/d/topic/unhosted/SJtOW6KcRgk/discussion

thumbs up for sharing nice reasoning first in your comment! :D

i look myself at distinction as storage servers <-> client libraries
