I found it a fun thing and it was fun to contribute to it. Can we have some more time this year to add new features? :)

JonnyBurger commented 11 months ago

Hi @JoshuaBehrens!

This year, we are actually starting earlier. GitHub is contracting us now and we are a team of 8 currently making the first assets and conceptioning it. This year we will improve upon the feedback from last year by for example allowing private contributions to be visualized.

Right now this is more of a private process, but we will open-source the repo in December. What kind of features would you wish for?

jia-ayo commented 10 months ago

this is great can not wait for what you have for us this December

rifkiard commented 9 months ago

Can't wait!

JoshuaBehrens commented 9 months ago

@JonnyBurger Maybe we can include hacktoberfest this time? For those who participated we can maybe give them a trophy/achievement? Maybe we can also include the public GitHub achievements.

JonnyBurger commented 9 months ago

@JoshuaBehrens We've already finalized the storyboard and decided on the scenes for this year. Hacktoberfest is unfortunately not one of them (I think it will apply to too few users), but we are planning to include a special scene for sponsors this year!

I'll explore the achievements but it is not planned at the moment.

JoshuaBehrens commented 9 months ago

Don't worry. I assumed my answer would be too late. But eventually I am happy to see this happening again :)

Hey @JonnyBurger , so it's coming Dec end mid or start, can we get any leaks 👀?

JonnyBurger commented 9 months ago

Posting some leaks on Twitter: https://twitter.com/JNYBGR/status/1725458304002937135

Working on this intensively right now!

rifkiard commented 9 months ago

Will it counting which organization we're active?

JonnyBurger commented 9 months ago

@rifkiard It is still just for individuals this year, but you will be able to include private activity this year

mazdakdev commented 9 months ago

It would be incredible If there was an option to authenticate using Github Oauth for private repos to be counted statistically.

JonnyBurger commented 9 months ago

@mazdakdev There will be!

iampato commented 9 months ago

We need a release date

JonnyBurger commented 9 months ago

It will be launched when it is done! Here's a little leak

rifkiard commented 9 months ago

I'm curious, is it possible to include GitLab's activities too, maybe in the next year?

JonnyBurger commented 9 months ago

@rifkiard We are partnering with GitHub this year. What is this other platform you are talking about?

😂 My email is open I want to see it, (I'm cringing)

I'm just thinking about it since we can log into it (GitLab) with our GitHub account.

We are in the GitHub community and this year even paid by GitHub. Not that we are prevented from doing it, but imagine us supporting other providers, that would be like Spotify Wrapped supporting Apple Music 😁

That being said, it will be open source in a few days and we'd welcome the project being re-used if someone takes the initiative!
