Local File Paths Cannot Be Checked (Mac, Chrome) #22

Open itsclockwork opened 11 years ago

The Validity Icon does not display for local files on Mac (10.7.5) Chrome (26.0.1410.65). As a workaround I can display the icon and check validation by using a local IP. Please allow Validity to work with local files ("file://…"). Thanks.

If possible, this will be implemented as an optional permission, switched on in Validity's settings to avoid prompting for new permissions on update for those that do not have a need for the feature.

+1 e.g. Tampermonkey and Stylish have "Allow access to file URLs" checkbox on the Extensions page.

I can't validate local HTML files (file://...) using openSUSE Leap 42.2 and Google Chrome 58.0.3029.81 64-bit.
