Progress jumps back and forth

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Watch a trailer on trailers.apple.com with FireFox
2. Observe the progress bar and the speed

The progress bar jumps back and forth. The speed varies between a negative 
amount of several thousand kilobytes per second and the a believable positive 
download speed.

I'm using gecko-mediaplayer 1.0.6 on Gentoo.

I believe, the file might be downloaded twice, in parallel, hence the jumping 
back and forth.
