Unfortunately, none of the three methods work on the latest firmware.

Hi CroqueMr, were you able to install Developer Mode on this LG TV and the Homebrew Channel aswell?

CroqueMr commented 2 years ago

Hi, Yes I was able to install the homebrew channel and the developer mode. But when the expert mode is triggered by any method (browser, expertmode downgrade ipk, or line code) the TV reboot instantly

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I'm interested in why this wasn't working for you as. I've had a quick look around at some issues people were having with the RootMyTV thread on the XDA Forums. There is a bit of disagreement over if this would work and it is from 2021.

As this may help some others I was going to ask if you would be willing to do a factory reset of the LG TV and then try again with a default TV setup. No problems if you can't but it could be worth a shot.

There may have been something that was installed during a firmware upgrade or the WebOS Version. I'm also curious was this the firmware it came with when you got it out of the box or did you upgrade the firmware like I did?

I already tried a factory reset On the latest LG webOS firmware the downgrade exploit based on the expert mode was patched. This exploit is used by rootmytv, and every method on this GitHub.

I saw on a russian forum a new downgrade method based on the service menu. It seems very dangerous.

I haven't seen that version yet but if you see anything can you please link it in here as it will help anyone else trying this out too on the same TV model

I'm having the same issue, my TV is a LG 50UP7750PSB and i'm on firmware 03.30.15

I tried all 3 methods to downgrade but they all fail:

I thing my firmware is quite recent (released sometime between March 2022 and today, August 2022, from what i can tell), so is it possible that this explot to downgrade the firmware has been patched?

Looks like i might be out of luck

Same for me on OLED55B8PLA with 5.50.10, all methods result in downgrade menu for 1s (downgrade button greyed out) then black screen and 1s later live TV.

Closing this as this may not be possible on this firmware
