Issue with kitty terminal #16

Open ashucg opened 4 years ago

ashucg commented 4 years ago

First of all, thank you for working on this extension. Recently I switched to kitty terminal and it is not working properly with the extension. Extension seems to handle other terminals fine.

STR

  1. Install kitty terminal and select kitty as the default app for quake mode
  2. Open the terminal in quake mode
  3. Quit the terminal
  4. Try to toggle it again

What happens

Everything works fine but as soon as I quit the terminal it does not open properly again unless I disable and re-enable the extension.

I have this problem too.

nicolasvasquez commented 3 years ago

I have the same problem. The first time worked fine but after that doesn't open.

Same. I just don't close it.

Kitty works for me without any problems. Try these settings in ~/.config/kitty/kity.conf:

remember_window_size no
initial_window_width 800
initial_window_height 600
hide_window_decorations yes

Try these settings in ~/.config/kitty/kity.conf:

I've tried a variety of settings including those, but I can't get kitty to work with any stability with this extension. It always crashes after the first toggle.

I met the same issue. And remember_window_size no worked for me!

Got problems too when I enable dock autohide. With autohide disabled everything works like a charm.

I've tracked another issue with Kitty terminal: it doesn't show its window for the first time when I set hide_window_decorations yes. Switching it to no and killing all kitty processes fix the problem. After that I can re-enable hide_window_decorations and kitty works without further problems. Tested on Fedora 37, Wayland.

I think I managed to fix it. By accident I set remember_window_size yes. Switching it to no fixes the problem.

Also ran into this, but can confirm that remember_window_size no fixes it.

Since this seems to be the fix for this particular problem, I think we can close this issue? :slightly_smiling_face:
