TALK: frontend frameworks #33

Closed hccampos closed 10 years ago

hccampos commented 10 years ago

With RequireJS and ES6, we also have require('lx') on the frontend so...

How about a talk about frontend frameworks like Backbone, Ember, Angular, Knockout, and so on?

If people are interested in this, I could probably help out or give a small talk about AngularJS. Other people would have to jump in to give a talk about the others.

fbaiodias commented 10 years ago

I would love to hear about some AngularJS :+1:

NeCkEr commented 10 years ago

:+1: I sould love to see some frontend talks :) @hccampos lets go for it

daviddias commented 10 years ago

Angular :thumbsup: I think Luís Reis is also using Angular very frequently, we might have the Angular meetup

jamespage commented 10 years ago

@tiagoc could give a talk about why we dropped EmberJs for Angular. Even though we love handlebars.

All of this goes well with the Ink.js talk from SAPO.

AngularJS meetup some time Feb #28 would be lovely!

Now two small projects behind and one big ahead with it. I haven't had so much fun with JS for ages as with Angular. :+1:

@jamespage yes!:D

NeCkEr commented 10 years ago

So any more volunteers to talk about frontEnd frameworks??

@hccampos step ahead, I think that everyone wants some angularJS "show" so feel free to suggest a date and how much time you will need.

chmac commented 10 years ago

Wednesday 12th works for me, I leave on the 13th. :-)

daviddias commented 10 years ago

@joaojeronimo @NeCkEr , let's make it happen? :)

pierreozoux commented 10 years ago

Yes! :+1:

joaojeronimo commented 10 years ago

Nah I think it's too late to make it happen, it's only 2 days away... Let's plan for next week, sorry @chmac

pierreozoux commented 10 years ago

@joaojeronimo what need to be done? If the talks are ready, I think it's perfect. As @jamespage said, the place is ready. And most of people follow the discussion here, so we already know that's the 12th. Then, for the meetup group, I think last time, it was a 2 days short notice also ;) You decide, you're the boss!

joaojeronimo commented 10 years ago

Nope, we haven't asked anyone for talks on the 12th and most of the people don't follow the discussion here (only about 12 people do I think), last time it was 3 days notice and that's why there was only about 30-35 people there. Lets schedule this for sometime next week and I'll announce a week before, that's fair to everyone.

jamespage commented 10 years ago

We can talk on why we ditched Ember and went with Angular. SAPO are ready on there talk.

Ok, (anyway, at the end I'm not here the 12th) so it's perfect for me also ;)

joaojeronimo commented 10 years ago

Let's not rush into this, this #33 looks very good and so does #34 and #31. Let's have them happen and deliver a proper meetup, also let's discuss this in the proper issue #36 and not here

daviddias commented 10 years ago

@hccampos we are making the front end meetup , are you available to give the Angular JS talk?

daviddias commented 10 years ago

@jamespage @tiagoc , are you available to give the "from ember.js to angular.js" talk on the {next meetup](https://github.com/require-lx/group/issues/40)? :)

daviddias commented 10 years ago

@hccampos you up for the next meetup? https://github.com/require-lx/group/issues/40

(let's follow on that issue there :) )
