For notes on improvements to lesson 1

bmeade commented 9 years ago

Freshdesk is already in place and I think the new preferred email is support@nectar.org.au

FCTweedie commented 9 years ago

Can the help stuff come later? It has been 15 mins and I haven't done anything yet (4:22 pm) Like the questions

bmeade commented 9 years ago

Password reset information should be clearer

tjdett commented 9 years ago

I haven't done anything yet, so why am I learning about allocations after 3 months?

bmeade commented 9 years ago

How do I calculate how many core hours? What about location?

FCTweedie commented 9 years ago

Can there be some more rationale - what is this going to let me do? Refer back to the applications/ benefits more often

lachlansimpson commented 9 years ago

In this section:

In OpenStack parlance, a project is: "A logical grouping of users within Compute; defines quotas and access to VM images." And every project has a project ID: A "User-defined alphanumeric string in Compute; the name of a project."

FCTweedie commented 9 years ago

Can all this content on images (maintaining them etc) come later once we've created something? Like the questions & structure but it's a bit abstract

bmeade commented 9 years ago

What about images "Shared with Me?" How do I do that?

bmeade commented 9 years ago

No rules appeared when I created a new security group

FCTweedie commented 9 years ago

Should be getting the group to do the activities creating key pairs & security groups along with you

FCTweedie commented 9 years ago

Can there be multiple instances in a project?

bmeade commented 9 years ago

Need to be clear about difference between stopping and terminating - mixed up a couple of times

tjdett commented 9 years ago

I wasn't able to use my pt account to create a new instance because it had already exceeded its quota.

FCTweedie commented 9 years ago

Need to explain more about terminating/ stopping the time on a machine

MartinPaulo commented 9 years ago

I've either expanded the lesson notes, or added a comment for later action in the readme: the comments in the readme are principally about a possible restructuring of the first two lessons.
