Upgrades Gradle and Port #59

I didn't change the port, but I did upgrade gradle in the PR that has been merged. Is the port work still needed?

@dkowis, hi there. It's been over a year of this merge request I put out to you. We've moved on and decided not to use resilience4j at work. However, personally, I want to check if making an update will fix my demo. I'll get back to you on this soon.

Hey, no worries! I just did a bunch of cleanup on it as well, in a different branch :)
