Hi Joe,
All of the Resonance Audio SDKs support up to 3rd order internally. However, the current version of Unity 2017.3 does not allow you to import audio files (as audio assets) with more than 8 channels, which is a limitation for 2nd order as well (9 channels) - although pointed otherwise in the Unity documentation. We're currently in contact with Unity to overcome this limitation.
That said, higher-order Ambisonics support should become available without any updates required in the Resonance Audio SDK, once the audio import issue is resolved by Unity.
Ah right. Thanks for the info anokta.
If only the Unity documentation on ambisonics was correct, I wouldn't have spent so long reexamining my workflow..
Any news on importing anything over 1st order ambisonic files into my Unity yet? Using ResonanceAudioForUnity_1.2.1 in Unity 2018.1.0f2, I just tried an 8 channel but got the usual error ".... FSBTool ERROR: Failed decoding audio clip."
I'd also like to know when Unity allows for more than 8 channel audio.
Same here. I have a few recordings made with a ZM-1 and exported to 1st, 2nd and 3rd orders. I'd love to be able to test how they stack up to one another.
Any news about this issue? I'm trying to get 2nd order recordings from an OctoMic to import into Unity and decode with Resonance.
I have got assistance from omnitone developer to get 9 and 16 channel playback to work on chrome with binaural conversion. This is relevant to create a HOA player for browsers.
I too would like to see this feature implemented. Any news about this issue?
Hey there everybody. Any news?
I wish there was more support for this.
Hey,
First project using Resonance Audio. Excited to hear the outcome!
I've rendered a B-format 2nd order ambiX file using FB360 Spatial Workstation in Reaper.
However I seem unable to import anything above 1st order ambisonic files into my Unity session. I've read that RA supports up to 3rd order and Unity 2017.3 supports up to 2nd order. Is it a limitation with current iteration of RA that will be ironed out? Or is it likely that I'm doing it wrong?
Thanks in advance, Joe
