Haveno error

Haveno-reto appears to connect to tor but there are no seed nodes. No amount of time seems to make any difference. I have had it up for days. I cannot make trades.

+1 same here

So you get this error and you are unable to make any trades? Interesting... I too get this error, maybe 50-60% of times I open the client, but for me it changes nothing. Not sure why I get it in the first place, but even whenever I do I can still shop the market and buy/make trades. Everything on each tab works just fine.

You Closed the warning and waited? If so, how many peers do you have?

I'm not seeing anything that tells me about peers in the GUI

Bottom right corner. If there are 0 In- & Outbound peers, then you are having problems with Tor connecting to the Internet. If Tor is blocked in your country, use obfs4 bridges. Button: OPEN TOR SETTINGS Don't use the provided bridges, they are blocked by your government anyway. Get Bridgelines from bridges.torproject.org or Tor Telegram Group. It is best to have 4-10 bridges in case some are offline. Only 2 are actively used at any one time. You can also copy Bridgelines from the Tor browser if you have.

There is nothing there. No seed nodes available. I don't have any issues connecting to Tor in general. The Tor browser works fine for example.

This has nothing to do with Haveno's Tor binary, Tor browser has its own Tor binary. I currently have an RTT to my seeds of under 300 ms. That is an extremely good value.

I've tried bridges and VPNs, but its not working. Under network it says no data available. Same problem on Debian.

I'm having a similar issue AND i only see two offers in the whole app, making sure not to have " Show only offers that match my account" ticked. This happened after updating to the latest version.

boldsuck commented 1 month ago

Where is your problem? Everything is fine, you are connected in & out. Filter: USD there are only 2 Buy offer atm. Put some in. Warning !=Error, close it and you're done.

I cannot seem to get SimpleX to connect to anything - does it not work behind a VPN? I would like to see if this "private" address fixes my connection issues with Haveno.

boldsuck commented 1 month ago

The SimpleX network has adopted many design features from the Tor transport overlay network. Sending it through VPN, Tor or I2P is unnecessary and causes more problems than benefits. You can also choose private servers or run your own SMP server. I simply added the repo in F-droid and installed the app and created a profile. This is easier than Signal/Molly or Telegram, no ID, phone number or similar.
