https://github.com/intridea/omniauth-openid/issues/22 this is a serious issue that you need to alert the omniauth-openid author to. It would appear only together can the two of you resolve this unless you have access to his omniauth-openid gem repository.

Unfortunately I don't have access to the omniauth-openid repository, and the maintainer never answers...

Anyway, I will take a look at your PR, thanks a lot!
