Hey everyone,

It's @reuseman here, the official creator of the plugin. I am glad that a lot of people find this plugin useful and use it daily. At the moment, there are several issues and improvements that could be made to the flashcards-obsidian plugin, but I am extremely busy in order to do a proper job on this. That's the reason why I am looking for a collaborator that can help me make some improvements and fixing some bugs.

If you are interested, please feel free to contact me. reuseman.uw6v8@slmail.me

lukigarazus commented 1 year ago

Is this still relevant?

reuseman commented 1 year ago

@lukigarazus Absolutely

m33sterjay commented 1 year ago

I'm interested if you're still looking for someone

reuseman commented 1 year ago

Amazing. For any person that is interested, contact me reuseman.uw6v8@slmail.me

We can discuss in depth about your skills and what we can do on the plugin.

@lukigarazus I've seen that you did a small JS in Haskell. If you want to have fun, it would be great to implement a small parser of the flashcards syntax and make it more robust to changes

reuseman commented 1 year ago

There will be a rewrite with https://ohmjs.org/docs/intro. This will allow having a front layer that will parse the flashcards, that then will be managed by a back layer in order to do the CRUD operations in Anki. The whole architecture should guarantee something that is more robust with fewer bugs and more readable. In other words, fewer issues and more people will be able to contribute.

If you want to contribute, feel free to contact me reuseman.uw6v8@slmail.me or join on the following branch https://github.com/reuseman/flashcards-obsidian/tree/ohm

like to work with your plugin

reuseman commented 1 year ago

@glitchlover Hey glitch, that's nice. If you want, you can start from #150, and then we can have a proper talk :)

reuseman commented 1 year ago

@lukigarazus @glitchlover @m33sterjay Are you still interested? It would be nice to work on #155 and #152, to have a plugin that is more stable and to include the new features requested by the people

glitchlover commented 1 year ago

glitchlover commented 1 year ago

Afternoon @reuseman!

Little late to the party but I would love to help in any way that I can. I just started posting some bugs I have found with this plugin and plan tackling/fixing them in my own fork a.s.a.p. Look for a pull request soon.

Feel free to reach out to me anytime! I look forward to hopefully hearing back from you. 🙂

reuseman commented 1 year ago

Hey @edmund-leibert,

I am glad that you want to contribute and that the plugin was useful to you.

Right now there are a lot of pull requests to be merged, but if you want to have a bit of fun with the project than I will put high priority on yours so that after a while, if you stick to it, I can put you as a collaborator and help me out with the other pull requests as well.

At the current state, one thing that is slow is to integrate new features and even fixes, because without a proper testing solution, there is a high risk of having a regression in some behavior. So in general, the top priority is fixing bugs and create a kind of test suite.

Cheers!

Alright, that sounds a like a plan. I am out right now, but will get back to you a.s.a.p. on a list of "action items" for myself. Look forward to talking then!

What is the status of this request ? Can we expect a maintainer for this plugin ?

reuseman commented 1 year ago

I didn't have any news

phillipjohnston commented 10 months ago

Out of curiosity: if you're looking for a maintainer, and people have several open PRs with necessary fixes... why aren't you merging any of them?

TejasK28 commented 2 days ago

Hi, I'm interested to be a co-maintainer!
