[request] stereo 3D side by side mode #230

Hello, this is not an issue actually, but a request,

I'm connecting my PC to a 3D HDTV for gaming, and the iz3d side by side driver
don't works at all with NullDC.

I was wandering if it is possible for you guys to implement a stereo 3D mode in
side by side, (rendering 2 images, and displaying the result in one, 960x1080 +
960x1080 => 1920x1080 60hz, the TV does the work to convert that in to 120hz
stereo.

By doing this, no need for a driver like iz3d or 3D vision, as most 3D TV
support the side by side mode, and can convert the SBS image into S3D. (I'm
using a Samsung 3DTV)

I know that this won't be an easy task, as the emulator would need to support
the separation and convergeance, but this would be so great :D

Thanks in advance for those who would implement that :)

btw, the futur 3D TV play from nvidia allows only 720p60hz S3D, the SBS mode is
better, as it allows 1080p / 2 in 60hz : the resolution of the image would be a
bit higher in SbS, so this would be the mode of choice for all hdmi 1.4 3DTV
owners, forever :D

That'd be a nice feature. I'm not sure we'll ever even think of starting such
a project, but you never know what could happen. Let's wait for Razi to look
at this post, then we'll see what he thinks.

I just checked Dolphin's website. They just added 3D support a few days ago.

If ever NullDC reach level of compatibility of Dolphin, this would be an
interesting options. Right now, it would be pointless for devs to waist their
time on such nonsense. Compatibility and accuracy always comes first. Other
things are trivial.

Ehm... I thought that nullDC had a higher level of compatibility. Stuff that do
not work are more or less limited to those that use the MMU, along with those
couple of games that crash/freeze due to known problems.

This means more or less two dozens of games that do not work. Everything else
should be working.

Well, i'm lazy to implement 3d. If the driver does it, thats good. Otherwise,
thats tooo bad. The code is there, get someone to do it ;p

No one interested in adding 3D support? there is a 3D version of NullDC, but
it's an old build so it's plenty of graphical glitches ( no fog, transparencies
bugs etc, it would be nice to see the actual build supporting 3D.

Here is a video of Shenmue running in real stereocopic 3D using this old build,
for those of you interested.
