Change widget background

This is a suggestion, no bug:

It would be great, if users could choose the background of the widget by 
choosing an image file (maybe PNG with transparency) from the file system. I 
would really like to have that feature, to make the widget style match my other 
widgets.

And i am looking forward to a market release of r127, that fixes issue 24. :)

This leads to a problem about selecting the file. Android offers no standard 
way of selecting files such that this would work only on some phones.

What I could do without depending on external file explorers: if there is an 
image "bg.png" in /sdcard/sparserss, this will be taken as backgoundimage.

How does that sound?

And if there is none, the default background will be used, sounds good!

Another question about file selection:
When i have to choose an image, android offers me ASTRO or the gallery to 
choose the image. Isn't the gallery standard on android?

Yes the image gallery chooser could be used but I don't know if this 
application covers all possible file locations.

The image has been replaced by a simple background color which can be changed 
such that I consider this as fixed.
