Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Download Sketchyphysics to the mac.
2. Open SketchUp.
3. Wonder where the physics buttons are.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect to see sketchyphysics, but it doesn't show up.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Sketchyphysics 2 on Mac OS X 10.5

Please provide any additional information below.

Install last version and follow installation notes, they explain you where to
copy
plugin files.

It works fine for me on Mac 10.4.11 with sketchup 6 and 7

Try this hack, I copied from fernandogalin's post in issue 9:

* copy sketchup.rb from Tools folder to Plugins folder
* edit sketchyphysics.rb from Plugins folder and add this line at the begining
of the
file: load "sketchup.rb"

It worked for me!

I am running OSX 10.5 on an Intel Core2Duo 2MHz Mac Mini.

Steps I performed:

1. Delete all prior versions os SU and also removed/deleted everything under
Library/Application Support
2. Reboot
3. Fresh install of Sketchup 8
4. Fresh install of Sketchyphysics 3.2 MAC
5. Moved SP files from <username>/Downloads to Library/Application
Support/Google Sketchup 8/Sketchup/Plugins
6. Start Su 8...

This error message appears:

Error Loading File sketchyphysics.rb

dlopen(/Library/Application Support/Google SketchUp
8/SketchUp/plugins/SketchyPhysics3/sdl/SDL_Special.dylib, 9): no suitable image
found.

Did find:
    /Library/Application Support/Google SketchUp 8/SketchUp/plugins/SketchyPhysics3/sdl/SDL_Special.dylib: unknown required load command 0x80000022

My guess is this has something to do with the animation controls. I cannot edit
this dylib file because it has been compiled (its not a text file).

PROBLEM SOLVED - Sketchyphysics 3.2 requires Mac OSX 10.6 (Snow Leopard).

At least my problem has been solved (see above error message).

You can see mention of it here:

Update to 10.6, 10.7, or 10.8 when it comes out this summer.
That should solve anyone's problems.

So basically this means that anyone with a PowerPC processor is out of luck?

I copied sketchy physics in "Macintosh HD->Library->Application Support->Google
Sketchup 8->Sketchup->plugins and not to "<my_user_name>->Library->... and now
it works OK

If you have latest version (Sketchup 2013) folder structure should be as
follows (please not the 'Google Sketchup 8' has to be 'SketchUp 2013')

Macintosh HD->Library->Application Support->SketchUp 2013->Sketchup->plugins
