Maybe it is because Java is, somehow, broken.
I think this should do it:

Go to Start, then Execute, and type in "regedit".
In the left column you have to search
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet
Settings\Zones

Normally there should be 5 folders after opening the directory (named 0, 1, 2,
3 and 4), but if there is another one called "L" or something similar, DELETE
IT (press the DEL key).

That happened once to me. I did this once and it worked.

I was having the same problem but I fixed it :)
The problem is that, you have entered incorrect text in "controller" for join
or anything is already used in your model, so restart the program and for the
first time when you open IU window don't close it till you erase the text you
used for inspector in "controller" or change it to something working just like
I did "see attached file" :)

But what is wrong a what is right?
In my SketchyPhysics 3.2 inspector remembers only a few types of name for
"Controller".
1} Name with all numbers, but then, when play simulation, the whole model
become invisible.
2) word righty or (righty) , but when play simulation, the model behave twitchy.
What is the "Controller" good for?
It seems that the only way how to keep the Inspector live is never close it.
(Windows XP, Dell Optiplex 755, Sketchup 8.0.14346)

No you needn't keep inspector live, but as I told before you just need to input
appropriate parameters for controller and even one mistake will make problem.
The advantages of controller, it's used to link your model to your keyboard and
thus you could control it's movement by using keyboard after playing simulation
and for my case I used "(righty)" and "0.5-(rightx)" for motors and servo
respectively to drive a car by using directional keys on my keyboard after
playing simulation.
