[x] Add support for optional fields. Likely by wrapping them with a generic type. e.g. Optional<T>.
[x] Make them toggleable in the UI
[x] Go through documentation and mark optional fields in NF as necessary.

Decided to put this on the backburner for now. I want to be able to export maps before making this change so possible side effects can be tested.
