Use SE to measure the properties of individual SF regions.

met with Pascale on 2/19/21 to talk about how we might quantify the Halpha emission. She had suggested looking at the location and properties of the individual SF regions.

Idea

• run source extractor on the continuum-subtracted Halpha image.
  • could also use photutils, but not sure this has all the same structural properties as SE and it is slower
• use the r-band segmentation image to limit the region that source extractor runs on
• I think we already do something similar when calculating the gini coefficient.
• this would produce a catalog for each continuum-subtracted image that has
  • positions (pixels and RA/DEC)
  • flux
  • flags
• we can then analyze the spatial distribution
