Hello leoraferrari - (1) Please could you advise me which OS you are using? We have had some issues with Mac OS using the Desktop / Documents folder when iCloud is working. If you are using Mac OS, could you try making the db in your Home folder and see whether the issue is still there? (2) I wasn't sure from your message whether the database location (i.e. the .luscdb) is lost or not. Please could you clarify what happens when you log back on: do you get an empty database with nothing in it? (3) Can you measure songs, save them, then re-open the spectrogram and still see your measurements? i.e. do the problems only occur when you log out and then log in again?
Any further details welcome too! Best, Rob
Hi Rob,
I am using a Mac with Ventura 13.5. I tried to make the db in my home folder but Luscinia wouldn't allow me to create anything in there. The database seems to create in its on standalone folder that isn't saved to any reachable place in my computer (even if I choose add database to an existing folder), so when I shut it down or even log out, I can't find a way to get the db back. Same with if I start by making a new folder. I'm attaching an image of this below.
When I get back to the log in page and search for the database, all I can find is a .luscdb file that was created before with code in it (seems to be a separate folder than my original db folder?). I'm attaching that image below.
If I don't log out or close Luscinia, I have no problem creating and analyzing spectrograms, and I can always reopen them with the edits I made.
Hope this helps! Thank you! @rflachlan
Actually I may have just figured it out! Restarted my computer and the db with my saved spectrograms were there. Exploring your questions and writing the above comment helped. I don't think I was creating the db correctly: I was trying to make the db out of the folder of wav files I had rather than first creating a .luscdb file, then adding the folder of wav files to it. @rflachlan
Hello!
I've restarted/shutdown my computer a couple times since beginning to analyze spectrograms in Luscinia, and when I open Luscinia back up, the database location I created and what I analyzed is lost. What I am left with is a (name of file).luscdb which seems to be a folder with code but cannot get the edited spectrograms back. I've tried saving the database to different locations on my computer but that does not seem to make a difference. Any advice? Thank you! @rflachlan
